Previous assignments (R/D9): As a kind of check in, I would like to hear a somewhat summative reflection on your experience in the course so far, particularly related to the technology-related tasks you have tackled. How challenging have you found them? What support you did not get that you would have appreciated (or what support did you get that you did appreciate)? Are excited, frustrated, both? Do you think you will find ways to incorporate some of what we have done in your professional work? For those of fairly (or brand) new to this masters program, how do you feel about this as a first or early course?
Up to this point, I have found most of the technology-related tasks to be fairly basic and not difficult to do. What I can appreciate about these tasks is that for many of them, I had not done before. With much of the technology today, you really don't realize the need or benefit of them until you use them. I knew of most of what has been introduce, but I never really saw the need for most of them, but much of that has changed to this point now that I see the uses of them. I appreciated the opportunity to create the wiki as a part of a group, as that could have been a daunting task for the first time going solo, and even though I haven't had to use it yet, the discussion board is a good tool if something were to become difficult to deal with. As I stated before, now that I am aware of the benefits of some of what we are working on (especially the class wikis, podcasts, and blogging) and I know that I will use them in the near future in my classes. It adds and supplements what I can teach, and it can only enhance the learning experience for my students. I am excited about that, and I am glad to know that for the most part, I am only scratching the surface of what is available to help in my teaching. I know that not everything will be applicable, but thus far the good has far out-weighed the bad. For the first class in this masters program, I think that this is giving a good foundation to what is going to be needed for the rest. I honestly didn't know what to expect with how the communication would be amongst classmates and instructors, so it has been good to learn how to use the many different ways to relate information to each other. Thus far, I would say that it has been a positive experience.

I agree, having an environment to use these tools in has been really helpful.
I agree that where I have known about most of the technologies we have used and discussed in this class, I have not really taken the time to play with them.
I have been working on integrating some of these technologies into my classes as well.
It's also nice to communicate with people outside of a specific school.
Good point about if you havnt used something you may not realize the benifits. There is so much out its hard to get a grasp on whats good or can be used. This class has "forced" us to take a look at some technology related tasks we have not tried before. So we have learned many benifits of these tasks and may be able to use them to help our students in the future.

Hi Karel!
I agree with you about doing the wiki as a small group. Doing it alone wouldn’t have been the same learning experience. Knowing that you can work together, yet be far apart, is cool thing.
I can’t wait to play around with all of the things I’ve been learning so far. It is amazing how much has been developed with regard to the Internet so quickly. That we can use so much of it to enhance teaching is really cool.

I'm glad to see this class has been a positive experience for you. I know some are having more difficulties than others, yet you seem to be doing great. Also, It is good to hear that you will be putting some of these technologies to good use in your classroom. I think I have some good idea I just, just need to figure out how ti implement them
