Reflection to Wiki Project
This was my first experience in building a Wiki, and it took a little bit of time figuring it out, but overall I would view it as a positive experience. I can very easily see myself using a wiki in my teaching. I can see two very beneficial uses of it: First, it can be used for information for students that are sick or miss classes. Secondly, I would use it as a means for project work...it is a place where I can lay out information, place links to helpful websites, and to provide examples of work. I think that the key with building a wiki for class purposes is to maintain it, and to consistantly use it. It is something that I think would need attention daily.

Karel,I am excited about the things that you have shared in terms of how to use the Wiki effectively in the classroom. I don't have a classroom right now as I work at the University and so I find it hard to image the uses for technology sometimes.
It never dawned on me that it could be used for sick students that miss assignments because I was thinking that the pages can be changed but of course to do that they would have to be "invited" so that takes care of that scenerio.
I agree that using a wiki would be something that needs to be maintained daily. Even a class web site requires a lot of attentionif you plan on keeping the material accurate and up to date. However, I don't think it would require a lot of time since commenting and changing a wiki take little effort.
I also did not think about a wiki in terms of being a useful tool for absent students. Creative thinking! I have been trying different methods of putting notes online.
